Verdana

Poetry should not be written in Times-New-Roman font —
That is for cookbooks and how-to guides and wills.

Poetry should not be written in cursive or vivaldi —
These are too pretentious and distract from the beauty of the words themselves.

Poetry must be honest and easy —
and 12 point font.
Poetry must be written in Verdana.

If you try to find verdana in the dictionary,
instead you will find these simple words:
Verdant – Verdure – Verity.

Verdant… ripe luscious living green
Verdure… innocent and fresh
Verity… an enduring necessary truth

I will be like my poetry:
ripe luscious living and green,
innocent and fresh,
and living an enduring but necessary truth
